Happy Valentine's Day

A very uneventful Valentine's Day turned very eventful as the day progressed. I was expecting at least a couple or two at my Valentine's Day 2 for 1 session but the expectation of rain may have scared off the crowd this weekend. Didn't matter, this finally gave Debbie and I a change to train on our own. Started with some ladder two handed swings (you go I go style), clean and press making sure to clean the bell after every rep and finished up with some good ol' goblet squats! After our quick KB session, we loaded up the bells and went back to the kung fu school.

Taught for about 1.5 hours on some CSC basics. Warming up with power yoga postures and the sha ba form working both sides of the throw. Besides seeing my students eyes light up when they were able to relate these throws with their own 7 star training, this wasn't the highlight of the day.

I had planned a little suprise for Debbie which involved sushi, a barbershop quartet, Dr Mark and Courtney Chang, and a shiney little object. Yes ladies and gentlemen, I took the plunge and I guess officially retired from bachelorhood.

2009 San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade

This is probably the busiest Chinatown parade I've been to. The weather turned out to be wonderful this weekend and the streets were packed full of people coming to watch the parade. Usually there are some dead spots because the rain scares away most people but it was lined from start to finish this year. What did that mean for us? Well the dragons didn't get to rest much that night. Here's a clip of our performance.
